There will be a gallery talk on Sunday, December 13, 3 pm. Kingston Gallery is located at 450 Harrison Ave #43, Boston, MA 02118. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, 12-5 pm and by appointment.
The Shadow Shift Series is richly layered with tactile images and explores the interplay of shadows and shifts in depth. Textures add to the feeling that sand is shifting and moving with the action of waves on a rocky shore. Like shifting sand, the elements are ephemeral. Here and then gone a second later, leaving only a shimmer, a trace.

June 2007
Quartets and Variations, an exhibit of new Alternative Photography was featured at the Kingston Gallery May 29 – June 30, 2007.
Each piece in Quartets and Variations consists of four or more images framed together so that the elements of each quartet are part of a conversation. They interact as if parts of a musical composition with rhythm and harmony. The images reference the landscape and nature. A stand of trees becomes a branch and then devolves into a mysterious abstraction. Images repeat from quartet to quartet, with variations in color or composition. Patterns emerge and flow. Is it the night sky or an underwater scene? There is a recurring map image suggesting a journey. Layers interact.
Residency
I spent the month of September 2003 at Dorland Mountain Arts Colony in Temecula, California. Dorland is in Southern California about 60 miles from San Diego. I had a cabin (without electricity!) in which to live and work for the month. It was a wonderfully productive time. Lots of work and time to reflect. To find out more about Dorland visit their website, www.ez2.net/dorland.
